Samson from the womb you were called by God and given a special anointing to set the people of God free from their oppressors. Instead you decided that gifting was for your own personal amusement and selfish gain. Where did that leave the people of God? Stuck in the oppression of their enemies!!! SMH!!!
Sammy all the blame doesn't belong to you, although at any time during the 20 years in which you judged Israel you could have repented and turned your heart completely towards God. Your parents played a tremendous roll in the tragedy of your life. Oh I don’t doubt for a second that when the Angel of the Lord visited them with the news that they would conceive after years of being barren, that they took what he said to heart and intended to do their part. Yet, somewhere along the line instead of guiding you through the process of dying to self completely and being broken so that God could use you. (Being a servant requires one to be submissive.) They put you upon a pedestal and crowned you the "golden child". So now instead being in service to God, they themselves became servants of you. When you requested a wife of unclean people, of coarse they put up a religious façade and protested, but immediately complied with your request. Although it was God who provoked this within you they never inquired of the Lord, to confirm this and cover you properly.
In the midst of the fiasco you the touched an unclean thing, rendered yourself ceremonial unclean, and then defiled your parents with the unclean thing. Thus heaping a curse upon yourself, your parents and your people. From that point your life continued to spiral downward. You opened yourself up to the influence of the enemy, and he exploited your weakness. Yes God was with you all the while and honored you but with that you become cocky and careless. Thinking there was nothing you couldn’t handle. You took His grace as a validation that you were okay. The day the Lord finally departed from you, you weren’t even aware that He was gone. It was then you fell into the hands of your natural enemies, who were merciless. God honored one last request of you and allowed you to destroy your enemies one last time, but you went down in shame not glory!! And the people of God remained in bondage to their enemies.
Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Hag 1:5
